The NL Sports Week (December 12 – December 16) is about to start! In the upcoming weeks towards the NL Sports Week we will introduce the organizations that will participate in the NL Sports Week at the Expo in Dubai. We will do this by asking everyone the same 5 questions. Today, we have the pleasure to introduce Sportinnovator (website)!
- Can you briefly introduce Sportinnovator?
Sportinnovator is the programme for sport innovation and research funded by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. The programme aims to increase the effectiveness of sport innovations and contribute to a more vital society.
- What does your organization have to offer in the UAE?
We offer an access to our nationwide network of approximately 20 Sportinnovator-centres and the digital platform Sport Data Valley. In this network government, scientists, sport professionals and businesses join forces to realise cutting-edge innovations designed to improve results both within professional as well as recreational sports. The network also aims to encourage people to adopt a more active lifestyle.
- Why do you participate in the NL Sports Week at the Expo in Dubai?
With 10,000 sports facilities, 22,000 clubs and millions of active participants, the sports sector is an important factor in making the Netherlands a more sustainable nation. To this end, it has committed itself to the National Climate Agreement and drawn up its own Roadmap for Sustainable Sport with a particular focus upon CO2 reduction, circularity and environmentally friendly grounds management. Innovation has a crucial role to play here.
In this ‘International Knowledge week’ at the Expo we are aiming to share insights, show innovations and to learn from other initiatives.
- What are you looking forward to the most?
To get inspired by participants and to new connections for future collaboration.
- Why should everyone come to the Netherlands Pavilion and meet you at the Expo?
Top-end innovations will be shown, with interesting dialogues in the liveshows (which will be livestreamed). Experience the innovations of the Netherlands yourself!
